- Apply to the College on the official application form.
- The application forms must be signed by a parent, or court-appointed legal guardian. Other relatives or agents are not acceptable.
- We strongly advise the parent/legal guardian to seek the help of a local Education Consultant or Agent for help in completing the applications and for translations/explanations of the legal contract which is being entered into with us.
- Enclose with your application your latest school report, public examination results or forecast marks etc., 2 passport sized photos, a letter explaining why you wish to study in New Zealand.
If your application is accepted you will then be sent a document called an “Offer of Place”. Take this to your nearest New Zealand Embassy/High Commission and get an application for a visa. The Visa Officer will explain what other documents you need.
When you have supplied all the correct documents you will be “approved” for a visa. You must then send the school fees to us. Course Fees must be paid for the full year.
When we receive the money we will fax/email a copy of the receipt to the Visa Office in your country. We will mail the original to you.
Take a careful note of the date your Student Visa expires.
Students are issued with a student visa on condition that they attend school. Frequent or unexplained absences must be reported to the New Zealand Immigration Service and this may result in the termination of the student visa.
Students cannot leave early or return late from their home country at holiday times unless there are special reasons. Please discuss this with the Director of International Students
Students may apply at any time for entry into Northcote College.
Senior students (Year 11—13) finish formal classes around mid-November to go on study leave for national NCEA examinations.These exams usually finish by early December.
Short-term international students do not usually sit these exams so will be able to take part in a special English/activity programme in November.
