On-line classes were offered to Northcote College students for the first time in 2012 through the HarbourNet Schools cluster. Enrolment in the programme is limited to students who are self -motivated, well organised and committed to achieving.
Co-ordinated by e-Learning Dean, Simon Condon, the programme allows personalised distance learning through the Virtual Learning Network. In 2014 a group of students who had a time-table clash or a desire to do a subject that was not available embarked on this new approach to learning in German, Art History, Geography, Equine, Information Technology, and French.
The students involved in the programme work independently with access to the eLearning room and once a week each joins the rest of their ‘class’ for a one hour interactive lesson using the wonders of modern technology and video conferencing.
