Learning Support at Northcote College focuses on:
• Raising student achievement
• Supporting students in their mainstream classes
• Developing social skills
• Experiences to support students into the wider community
Learning Support takes place in both the Learning Support Centre and C8.
C8 provides support for main streamed students who have identified learning needs. Students with learning needs are timetabled for tutorial classes in C8. The C8 room is also available for students before school and during break times.
The Learning Support Centre (LSC) has a programme that includes literacy and numeracy support. Students also take part in individual inquiry based activities designed to develop a range of research and personal learning skills. Most LSC students are mainstreamed for half of the time they are at school and their individual learning programmes are supported in the LSC classes.
