Sports Report Term 3 Week 10

There were 3 games played on the Bottom Field on Saturday September 23. Large crowds watched some excellent Football in very warm conditions. Both the Old Boys and Old Girls featured a former New Zealand Under 20 Representative, Elijah Neblett and current top player, Sarah Morton.

Northcote College 1st XI Boys vs Northcote College Old Boys - Drawn 4-4 (1-2)

A thrilling end to end game between two outstanding teams. The first time that the Old Boys were not victorious in this fixture. For the 1st XI, Stefan Tribelhorn (10MM), Alejandro Gallardo (13HU), Kaze Matheson (10MM) and Jeremy Geurts (12NA) scored the goals. For the Old Boys Xavier Wingfield (1st XI 2014-2016), Tate Kimpton (1st XI 2012-2016), Miller Christensen-Yule (1st XI 2007-2009) and Yuki Utsugi (1st XI 2014-2016) scored the goals.

Northcote College 2nd XI Girls vs Paeroa College 1st XI Girls - Lost 3-5 (1-2)

Another exciting game. Paeroa retained the Tyler-Johnson Cup with this win. The 2nd XI fought back from 1-4 down and at 3-4 looked like snatching a draw or win. But it was not to be. Goals were scored by Akanshi Ram (11COL) from the penalty spot, Jane Son (12EDL) and an Own Goal from Paeroa. Jane Son (12EDL), Sarah Bloomfield (11WL) and Captain Jess Rowley (13GRI) in her last game were all outstanding.

Northcote College 1st XI Girls vs Northcote College Old Girls - Won 3-1 (1-1)

Fought back from 0-1 down to win well. For the 1st XI Dani Whitcombe (10LAU), Mia Rutledge (13GRI) and Cynthia Saijaipadoi (12EDL) scored the goals. For the Old Girls Sarah Morton (1st XI 2016) scored the goal.
