Leaving Auckland early in the morning 24 Northcote College students and 3 teachers travelled over 12000km to eventually touch down in India’s busy capital, Delhi. Over the next 20 days the students and teachers would explore India’s north. The groups spent 5 days trekking across the foothills of the Himalayas. They sanded, plastered and painted a small village primary school as part of their community project. And of course they were immersed into the rich culture through sightseeing, shopping and dining at many different restaurants.
All the students and teachers had an amazing and unforgettable time, but were glad to touch down home safely in Auckland on Christmas morning and be back with their families. Suitcases a little heavier with souvenirs and abundance of “Happy Pants”.
