International market day

The hall was filled with a fiesta of sights, sounds, and tastes at the International Market Day on Friday 7 August. Taste buds were tempted by delicious Spanish churros and French crepes.

There was much hilarity at the ‘chopstick chocolates challenge’: If you can pick up those slippery M&Ms with chopsticks you can eat them!

We were entertained by the Chinese Lion Dance troupe. And we tried our hands at petanque, origami, paper cutting, facepainting, and karaoke.

Best team costume prize went to Team Spain, while Dae’n Te Reo won best individual outfit with his traditional Maori ensemble and a beautifully-carved taiaha he’d made himself.
