Northcote alumni leads 'gamechanging' Covid test
Former Northcote College student Dr Anne Wyllie is making worldwide headlines for a saliva test that she and a team at the Yale School of Public Health have developed.
It’s being hailed as a “gamechanger” in Covid 19 testing – although Dr Wyllie cautions that “it’s early days yet”.
The SalivaDirect test is as easy as spitting in a cup, and could prove to be even more effective than the current nasal swabs. The test’s now been given Emergency Use Authorisation by the US Food and Drug Administration to be tested more widely across the States.
