Promotion for delighted netball prems
The Northcote College Premier 1 Netball team had an outstanding Tournament Week – with the highest placing the school has had in years, and promotion to B Grade next year.
The team played 10 games in 5 days – winning 7 and losing 3 – and finished their week at UNISS 5th in their grade.
‘The girls played an incredible final game against Onewhero High School on Friday,’ says manager Rebekah Te Hau. ‘They gained the lead early in the game and continued to build as the game continued, and won 41 - 28.
‘We are so proud of what they have achieved. Their attitudes, skill level, and sportsmanship have been amazing this week. They played every game with determination, pride, belief, control and flair.'
The tournament week squad were: Ella Carter-Mills, Jayd Graham, Alysa Heale, Ashley Healey, Indy Lardner, Jade Lomu, Tyra MacPherson, Aaliyah Miller-Tohu, Summer Thurston, Lucy Shepherd, and Georgia Pickerill.
Coach Diane Burgess-Lardner also deserve enormous thanks for her tireless hard work, which has played an enormous part in the team's achievements.
