Opportunities in Science

Epro8 Challenge is an inter-school Science and Technology Competition based around an engineering and problem-solving race. 
Groups of 4 compete in the Junior (Year 9-10) challenge and Senior (Year 11 - 13) challenge. The competition provides 3 hours of fun, innovation and impressive problem solving skills in the heats with top placing groups progressing into semi-finals and regional finals. 

Massey University Workshops - Massey University offers our students the opportunity to participate in Chemistry and Biology workshops at the university. Students get to carry out practical experiments and investigations using state of the art technology and equipment. The university lecturers and tutors expose students to a range of courses and careers on offer which helps highlight the vast number of career opportunities in the sciences.

Rotary Science Forum - A once in a life-time opportunity for high-achieving NCEA Level 2 Science, Mathematics and Technology students to apply for a two week live-in experience hosted by Rotary NZ, University of Auckland, AUT and Massey University over the January school holidays. Successful applicants are fully immersed in university life, experience science and technology lectures, laboratories and student living in a hostel environment. The forum offers insight into the broad range of science and technology courses available for study and future career opportunities.

Scholarship Workshops - A variety of opportunities are available for students studying towards NZ Scholarship in each of the senior sciences.
