Hard Materials Technology

In Hard Materials Technology students design and make a range of products out of a variety of materials. They identify a need or opportunity and explore ideas that can be used to solve an issue

Design and Visual Communication

In Design and Visual Communication students learn and apply drawing techniques and design practice to conceptualise, develop and communicate design ideas and potential outcomes.

Fashion and Textiles

In Fashion and Textiles, students design and make a range of garments and textile products to meet a design brief.  There is an emphasis on creativity and trialling ideas including functional modelling.

Junior Technology

Technology is an important learning area in the New Zealand curriculum and provides opportunities for students to develop and extend their ideas to explore creative solutions to practical problems.

Carpentry

Carpentry is a hands-on programme where students make a range of products to take home. There is a strong emphasis on learning practical skills and techniques and students become competent using hand tools, power tools and machinery.
