Hospitality and Professional Cookery
Hospitality is a subject that prepares students to work in the hospitality industry. The programmes offered are approved by Service IQ which is New Zealand’s training organisation for the service industry. Students will gain knowledge and skills in the preparation of food, working in a commercial kitchen, front of house and barista techniques. Working in the hospitality industry requires good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills and this course will help develop these attributes. Hospitality can lead to careers and apprenticeships such as barista, hotel & restaurant management, chef and catering services and bar management.
