Senior Digital Technology Courses

Web Media Design

In Web Design students learn how to solve issues by generating digital outcomes. They will understand how to collect data and manage this effectively in databases. We cover data representation and popular digital compression formats and students use iterative processes to plan and code effective websites and enable these to link with their database. Students will develop their ability to create proposals for a client and thoroughly test and evaluate their outcomes to ensure they are fit for purpose. This course is university approved at NCEA Level 3 and can lead to careers in Computer Science and Creative Design and Marketing areas.

Creative and Innovative Technology

This course develops students’ ability to produce digital solutions by creating electronics outcomes, various algorithms and computer programmes. They develop an understanding of how humans interact with technology and how computers process data. The students will enhance their understanding by studying a range of computer science concepts, the mechanisms that underpin these and the effects that these concepts have upon our society. Students in these courses conduct a critical inquiry to iteratively develop, create and evaluate their outcome to ensure that client expectations have been met. This course is university approved at NCEA Level 3 and can lead to careers in Computer Science and Engineering.
