Season-opener rugby wins delight
Northcote 5th and 6th Grade Rugby had a storming start to the season this weekend - with wins over Rangitoto College and Mahurangi College.
Northcote 6th Grade v Rangitoto College at Northcote – win 36 to 19. Great start to the competition season with win for the first game. The team played well with all involved, working positively and at times very hard to defend their line. New players did their jobs and leaders led well. PODs Tanekaha Kurukaanga, Blake Patrick and Finn Cloutman. Next Saturday trip to Helensville to play Kaipara College.
Birkenhead & Northcote (Kaipatiki) 5th Grade v Mahurangi College at Warkworth Showgrounds – great win to start the competition, 29 to 10. Really pleased to see our boys fit in to this composite team well (8 boys). They had a great game and our Northcote players add well to make a solid team. Next week v Takapuna Grammar at Takapuna.
