Elizabeth Lavemaau - Victrix Ludorum, Sportswoman of the Year
Congratulations to Elizabeth Lavemaau, who was announced at Northcote College’s Victrix Ludorum | Sportswoman of the Year at our Senior Sports Awards last night.
Elizabeth has delivered an extraordinary sporting year, showcasing exceptional leadership, versatility, and elite talent across multiple codes at the school, regional, and international levels.
At school, Elizabeth demonstrated her natural leadership and passion for sport by captaining both the Senior Social Netball team and the Under-17 Girls Rugby team, while also competing as a member of the 3x3 Girls Basketball team.
In club rugby, she was instrumental in the Northcote Women’s team capturing their division title. Her dominant performances earned her selection to the North Harbour squad, making her provincial debut in the Farah Palmer Cup and earning 5 official caps as a forward.
Her representative success has now reached the ultimate level: Elizabeth has been named in the Tonga National Women’s Team (Lofa XV) 28-player squad. She will head to Sydney for a two-week training camp before travelling to Hong Kong in November to play on the international stage as a curtain-raiser for the Tonga Men’s National Team.
Adding to her incredible international record, Elizabeth recently represented New Zealand at the ITF Tag World Cup in Australia, competing for the U21 Mixed Tag Blacks. She brought home a World Cup bronze medal and was named as MVP.
We wish you all the very best in 2027!
