2025 achievements honoured at Senior Prizegiving
Congratulations to all the deserving recipients of 2025 academic and special awards at this week’s Northcote College Senior Prizegiving.
It is always a pleasure to recognise the academic achievements of students whose hard work has paid off in outstanding academic achievements, and to also commend students for other successes and contributions.
Particular congratulations to our top award winners:
Dux – Noa King
Proxime Accessit – Ash Setford
NOA KING – DUX 2025
Dux is awarded to the top acadmic student in a school - and means that the student's achievement across all subjects has been exceptional.
That is certainly true of Noa, who:
- received straight Excellences this year - an impressive grade point average - a perfect score of 1. His grade point average last year was .92
- received five NCEA Level 3 subject prizes (which means he was top in that course) - Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology - and was awarded three academic trophies
- also took a sixth subject
- remarkably, is a Year 12 student
Last week, Noa was also awarded the title of Northcote College 2025 Victor Ludorum (Sportsman of the Year)
ASH SETFORD – PROXIME ACCESSIT 2025
Congratulations to Ash Setford – who has been announced as the Northcote College Proxime Accessit for 2025.
As Proxime Accessit, Ash is one of the school’s top two academic achievers, second only to the school’s Dux.
The calculation of these awards is complex, based on data including NCEA grade point averages, subject prizes won, and school assessments.
