Athletics Champions and record-breakers

ATHLETICS CHAMPIONS AND RECORD BREAKERS!

Congratulations to these outstanding athletes who took top honours in their age groups at the school’s annual Athletics Day – proving their abilities across a range of events.

Senior Champions:  Grace Day & Sam Strudwick

Long Jump (Junior Boys): Preston Strong-Lauti (5.13m)

Long Jump (Junior Girls): Azlyn Sulusi (5.20m)

High Jump (Intermediate Boys): Isaac McMillan (1.82m)

FUN FACTS:

Azlyn Sulusi had a particularly dominant day, walking away as both the Junior Girls Champion and as record holder in the Long Jump. That’s a rare ‘double threat’ performance!

Isaac McMillan again proved he’s literally a cut above the rest with his third high jump record in a row! Last year he also broke the intermediate record with a 1.73m jump, breaking a decades-long record of 1.72m set by Mark Guy in 1989. In 2024 he broke the junior record with a 1.65m jump, breaking the 1.64m record set by Jason Delaveau in 2009.
