BASKETBALL CHAMPS - SILVER FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

CONGRATULATIONS to our U17 Basketball Girls and U17A Baskeball Boys – who each won silver at the Auckland Basketball Champs!

U17 Basketball Girls

The girls had great wins in the games leading up to the final:

Game 1 - at 8.30  against Elim Christian College U17A - won 37 - 10

Game 2 - 10.30  against Otahuhu College  U17  - Won 28 - 11

Game 3 - 12.30 against Botany Downs U17 Navy - Lost 30 - 40

In the final, the girls played Botany Downs U17 Navy again and lost again 30 - 40 to come 2nd overall. 

U17A Basketball Boys

The boys also won silver – the second consecutive year we’ve made the finals against Auckland Grammar. 

The team made it to the finals with a win over a very confident Westlake side in the semifinals.

They headed into the championship final without key players Harlow and Richie – and while our boys played their hearts out, we just couldn’t keep up with the bigger Auckland Grammar boys.

The team also finished the regular season in 2nd place in the Harbour competition.
