Fire at Northcote College
STATEMENT RE FIRE AT NORTHCOTE COLLEGE
5pm Friday 20 February 2026
We are proud of the way our students and staff responded to the fire in our Sports Pavillion today. They moved responsibly and calmly and followed our evacuation plan.
Northcote College is grateful to firefighters, fire commanders, and other emergency services who attended the fire this afternoon.
The fire service is investigating the cause.
We are sad to have lost a heritage building, the oldest building on the school site, which has served the school community for over a century.
We are offering support to both staff and students.
There will be work on site over the weekend.
Thank you to those who have reached out with generous offers of help.
School will be open as usual on Monday morning.
