KBB Music Festival accolades

KBB MUSIC FESTIVAL SUCCESS

We are so proud of both our Northcote College Big Band and Concert Band who each performed beautifully at the KBB Music Festival 2025 at Holy Trinity, Parnell, recently. We are delighted to share that BOTH bands received awards! Each band truly represented Northcote College fantastically!

The Big Band won the Bronze award. They played Pink Panther Mambo, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, and The Distance, under the direction of new music teacher Christine Hart. Well done to all involved!

Our Concert Band, directed by Robert Dil, received a Highly Commended award – a wonderful way to be recognised for our first time ever in the KBB Music Festival. They played a selection of popular short pieces – Magnificent Seven, Wipeout, Over The Rainbow, Eye of the Tiger, Havana, and All The Jazz.

Kary Ho was also selected as lead clarinet in a combined-schools “Honours Concert Band”, which learned and played the finale from Shostakovich’s Symphony No 5 at the end of the event.
